Area Interests

A new generation of organic farmers has firmly become part of the region producing organic meat, cheeses, and produce. The last seven years have also brought a stream of talented chefs and new creative people from out of the region who have been starting new restaurants and businesses. The pandemic and new fiber internet across the area have also helped more people discover the area. There are many wonderful events in the area throughout the year. Restaurants/Markets/Farmstands

  • EIGHTYMain Kitchen and Bar, Delhi - EIGHTYMain just opened this past August. It is the latest restaurant to bring inspired NYC cooking talent to the area and explore new local food creativity.
  • Hamden Inn - Located 3.5 miles down Rt 10 towards Delhi. The Hamden Inn was lovingly restored two years ago, and now it is our local "Cheers" with a creative restaurant with expertly prepared comfort and local food. Great outdoor dining as well. They are one of the few restaurants open on Mondays—Brooklyn transplant owners.
  • Brushland - Highly recommended intimate farm-to-table restaurant in Bovina. Open Thursday, Friday, and Saturday for a single seating Prix fixe, seasonally changing menu. Owners are Brooklyn transplants. Reservations are a must but worth it.
  • Hollow -  Cafe with excellent coffee bar, light fare during the day, and hip speakeasy in the back with Creative dishes and cocktails in Delhi.
  • Greenane Farms (Facebook Link), (Web Link)(Youtube) Farm-to-table Mexican steakhouse at a farm. Located in Meridale, a short drive outside of Delhi off of Rt 28. Wonderful family.
  • Bovina Fermentory - Farmhouse restaurant with regular summer hours. In the fall and winter, single-seating bespoke prix fixe dinners in the farmhouse. Advance reservations for selected weekends. They serve farm-brewed beer and ciders.
  • Tulip and Rose - Mediterranean, Indian, and Malay fusion restaurant in Franklin. Great short Youtube to learn how Tulip and Rose founders moved to the area and started a farm to help support the restaurant.
  • Wayside Cider - Great craft hard cider making, with a beautiful tasting room and outdoor drinking area. Enjoy local hard cider and creative meat, cheese, and vegetable boards, and explore the beautiful town of Andes.
  • Andes Hotel - Locally sourced produce and large microbrew selection in the Tavern. "Cans & Clams" late June - end of August every Friday (starting at 6:00). Live bands, clams, and cans of beer outdoors at the Andes Hotel.
  • The Old School House Restaurant - They raise their own Texas Longhorn cows on the hill behind the restaurant in Downsville.
  • Blue Bee Cafe - Great breakfast, crepes & Lunch; amazing coffee and homemade baked goods. Located in Delhi.
  • TA's - Walton - The place local breakfast place to go for a good omelet, pancakes, and eggs.
  • O'Neil's Shire Pub, Delhi - Good pub menu, with creativity. Music on weekends, and sports screens.

  • Awestruck Cider - Visit their taproom in Sidney for a variety of herb-infused ciders and local beer, and creative food boards. Open Thursday through Sunday, 3 - 10 (3-8 on Sunday).
  • Awestruck - The Mill in Walton. A local stylish Cidery tasting room at 34 Howell St. in Walton. Open Friday and Saturday.
  • Muddy River Farm Brewery - Visit their beautiful taproom and beer garden on the banks of the Susquehanna River in Unadilla - half hour drive. They grow their hops on the farm—Friday - Sunday taproom hours.
  • Yolo Mercantile - a creative gift store with fun items you didn't know you need located in Walton.

Agri Tourism

  • Pure Catskills - Link to a listing of area organic farmers and availability of produce. A new generation of organic farmers has firmly become part of the region—producing organic meat, cheeses, and produce. During the warm months, groups organize many great events that are worth exploring throughout the area.
  • Birdsong Farmers Market - Saturday Farmers Market Saturdays Mid May through October 10 - 2pm, 8 miles north on rt 10 on the right in Delhi (38480 rt. 10)
  • Windy Knob Blueberry Farm - Beautiful hilltop farm in Delhi for picking your own blueberries. Available to pick most of the summer.
  • Delhi Farmers Market - Every Wednesday, 9-2 pm in Delhi at Court House Square - June through September
  • Delhi Fair in the Square - Every Friday in July - 5 - 9:30. Food, Bands, local crafts, and farms.
  • Stone and Thistle Farm—Local organic farm that hosts tours, and farm dinners
  • Union Grove Distillery -Maker of Vly Creek Vodka located in Arkville with tours and a tasting room

Local Attractions

Hiking/Boating/Biking

  • Al’s Sport Shop—located in Downsville, a great place for Canoe and Kayak rentals. They do drop-off and pick-up in the East Branch of the Delaware.
  • West Branch Preserve—Spectacular hike through old-growth hemlocks. Trailhead is 2 miles towards Hamden on rt 10
  • Catskill Scenic Trail - Beautiful rail trail is suitable for a hybrid bike, hike, and horseback. Starts in Bloomville and passes through Hobart, Stanford, and Grand Gorge, ending in Roxbury. Download the map here.
  • Andes Rail Trail - Take a scenic drive to Andes, and there are two beautiful rail trail segments. Two-mile round trip - is very easy, and a four-mile round trip is a little more challenging. Treat yourself to a beer and nosh at the Andes Hotel.
  • Bramley Mountain - a four-mile loop that brings you to the summit of a former fire tower mountain with spectacular views in Bovina.
