
Lloyd and Janet Morgan purchased the Walton property in 1968 with the goal of creating a nurturing focus for their family. Lloyd passionately shaped the land through tree planting, pond building, and numerous family projects, including the building of an authentic log cabin from locally harvested timbers. Each Spring their vision is renewed as we continue to be stewards of Morgan Pond Farm.
The Farm is a former working dairy farm with the original post and beam barn, built in the 1880s, and the original classic farmhouse. The house is rustic and is continually being upgraded as time and resources allow. In 2014, siding, window casings, and exterior doors were replaced on the house, and both the house and barn received new metal roofs. Two private 10' x 12' summer open leanto cabins were recently added. Both are situated privately with beautiful views. One with a queen bed, and the other with two twin beds (look on the gallery for photos of the new cabins).
The property is privately situated at the end of a dead-end road on 210 acres of fields and woods. There are five ponds suitable for swimming, fishing, and endless frog and salamander catching. Hikers can enjoy exploring the extensive trails and old logging roads throughout the property. We actively manage the forest with selective thinning and sustainable commercial harvest for native hardwoods.
